German Professional Development Day – October 9

Join us on Friday, October 9, 2026, for an engaging and inspiring day of professional learning for German educators! The day will feature two guest speakers, valuable networking opportunities, book shopping, and our Annual General Meeting.

Our morning session will be led by Irene Mrázek, German Language Advisor Canada West, for the Federal Office of Foreign Affairs and the Central Agency for Schools Abroad, who will present “Aktiv statt abwartend: Lernmotivation als Motor für Kommunikation,” exploring strategies to foster student motivation and encourage meaningful communication in the language classroom.

In the afternoon, Tanmay Joshi, a German language teacher, will present “From Chaos to Structure: Three Levels, One Theme—Managing Mixed-Level A1/A2 Classes,” offering practical approaches for successfully teaching students with varying language proficiency levels.

We are also pleased to welcome book vendors from Goethe Books and Everything Deutsch, who will be on-site throughout the day with a selection of resources and materials for purchase.
